Utkan B. Bakırcı, who is an attorney at law in addition to being a chemical engineer, is the founder of our company and the patent & trademark attorney. After completing his education in the most established and best schools in Istanbul, Bakırcı started his professional life as a production engineer and continued his education while working in the chemical industry, in accordance with the needs of the industry.   

After receiving his secondary and high school education at The American Robert College of Istanbul, Bakırcı studied at Istanbul Technical University to become a chemical engineer. He started his professional life by working as a production engineer in a well-established company of the chemical industry. While leading the scale up of an innovative project, which would later bring the first patent of the company, he discovered his interest in the field of intellectual property. In 2013, he passed the national exams for becoming a patent and trademark attorney and gained the authority to act as an attorney before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Before founding US PATENT A.S., he worked as a patent leader in the oldest R&D Center of the chemical industry and worked as a patent and trademark attorney at US HUKUK LAW FIRM.

Bakırcı studied at Kadir Has University to become an attorney at law, with a vision to become a lawyer with industry and R&D experience. After graduating with the second degree in his faculty, he completed his internship to become a lawyer and registered to the Istanbul Bar Association. As a result of his master’s studies in Economic Law at Galatasaray University, he received his LL.M degree. He has been in the list of Court Appointed Experts in Istanbul and actively being appointed since a long time to patent, trademark, design, copyright, trade secret and unfair competition trials by the Specialized Courts of Intellectual Property and Prosecution Offices. While continuing his legal education in Turkey, he completed all the necessary trainings and 3-year Professional Training for becoming a European Patent Attorney. He successfully passed all the papers of European Qualifying Examination and entered the list of Professional representatives. Thus, being a European Patent Attorney he has the right to carry out patent application procedures before the European Patent Office, on behalf of applicants from all over the World. In addition to having the right to act before the National Courts in Turkey, he will have the right to act before the newly established Unified Patent Courts of Europe.
